“Live, Love, Travel”
My first order of business is to introduce myself. I am NotFromAfrica. I am currently a 21 year old student from Ireland with big dreams to see as much of the world as I can, as soon as I can. So many people who I know from home have never even left the country and that is just mind-boggling to me.
I like to think that I was bitten by the travel bug. Being bitten by this bug can cause some side effects, including but not limited to;
- itch or urge to see new places,
- impulsively buying of plane tickets to far away places,
- compulsive trip planning,
- low tolerance for static people,
- newfound appreciation for different people and cultures,
- attraction to others bitten by the travel bug.
If you suffer from some or all of these symptoms please do not fight it, studies show that surrendering to the bite can increase you survival rate and even increase your level of happiness. However it is highly infectious, therefore surround yourself with only those previously bitten. If you do happen to pass on the travel bug try to lead said person through the transition.
I hope the travel bug is good to you and you use it to the best of your ability.
Countries I’ve visited so far:
Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, Spain, France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium, Lanzarote, Iceland, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Rome and the Vatican City.
(I have big plans which may not be feasible just yet but are works in progress.)
Countries I plan to visit while studying in France:
-Portugal, Andorra, Monaco, Netherland.
Countries I want to visit this Winter:
-Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
Countries I want to visit next Summer:
-Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Kallingrad, Poland, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Albania, Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia.
I really want to go interrailing and just completely immerse myself in as many countries and different cultures as I can. So starting at the top and working my way down seems like a good idea to me. I am deadly serious about visiting as many of the European countries as I can. If that means I have to work my butt off to afford it then I am more than willing to do it. People spend their lives trying to find what they’re passionate about or their ‘thing’ and I’m pretty sure travelling is mine.
This blog is my attempt at sharing my thoughts and experiences with anyone who wants to read it. I’m not fishing for likes or followers. I feel that this is mostly for myself, so I can express myself somewhat anonymously and record all my adventures. If people want to tag along for the ride then that’s super and you guys are more than welcome!
This blog in general is a work in progress but I hope some of you will stick it out with me and see what the end product turns out to be. I’m just as curious as you are.
